Mobile Systems Verification Introduces High Performance Wireless Testing at Demo 2002

CHICAGO, Illinois, February 18, 2002 -- Only four months after launch, Chicago startup Mobile Systems Verification Corporation (MSV) premiered its Wireless Testing System (WTS) at the prestigious Demo 2002 conference. WTS is a mobile-aware, high-fidelity, end-to-end automated testing system for wireless applications. WTS relieves a growing point of pain -- the lack of reliability and performance in PDA and cell-phone applications.

Jim Forbes, IDG's executive producer of DemoMobile and Demo says "Large enterprises have a lot riding on wireless deployment. If an enterprise application is to succeed, it has to be strong enough to withstand constant use by thousands of employees. The Mobile Systems Verification platform simulates the intense data traffic that wireless enterprise applications will experience and goes a long way to helping IT departments and carriers feel more confident about the applications they will deploy."

Testing guru Bob Binder and colleague Jim Hanlon founded Mobile Systems Verification to productize their proven automated testing technology. Binder's consulting firm, RBSC, has been automating complex testing since 1994. "At RBSC, we've used our advanced methodology to build custom testing solutions. Clients typically gain a 10x improvement in overall test effectiveness and very high reliability," Binder said. "The future of information technology is wireless and mobile, but this paradigm has many new and unique testing problems. We've solved these problems with our rule-based mobility technology. WTS also costs much less than a custom job. With WTS, wireless developers and system operators can achieve high reliability and make credible claims of five-nines availability."

Among other things, WTS generates a high-fidelity simulation of an entire user population, spanning hours, days, or even weeks. The simulated inputs are automatically entered on specially configured personal digital assistants and cell phones, which use air-link internet connections to remote servers. This automated end-to-end testing gives an accurate check on performance and reliability before an application is released. "Our tag line, 'A million users in a box'(tm) suggests the power of WTS," Binder says.

MSV's early release initiative involves leading wireless developers and system operators. Binder says, "Customers, developers, and investors who've seen the 0.2 prototype are enthusiastic. Our early release customers are keeping us focused on essential, high-value features." The WTS beta will be released 3Q 2002 followed by a 4Q full production release.
